Title: *** Drive-In Movie Theaters ***
Post by: Erik on July 16, 2009, 02:41:31 PM
I'm wondering if there are any Drive-In Movie Theaters left within even an Hour or so of Venice. (As an addict, I'm very willing to drive at least that far...)

I know the warmer climates used to be an advantage to keeping them alive, but with Property Values rising, as well as the median age of typical owner/operators Drive-Ins have suffered.

I'm just wondering if there's still any hope there in Beautiful Florida.

Thanks,
Erik

Erik,

Thanks to the occasional hurricane, there aren't many drive in movie screens left in Florida.

However, here in Venice during the winter months, there are many free 'movie nights under the stars' on the local beaches.

You'll find these listed in the local Venice paper, usually on Wednesday.

I've always missed these movie nights. Hopefully next year.
